Sankofa Freedom Schools is dedicated to empowering youth through education, cultural awareness, and community engagement. Rooted in the African philosophy of Sankofa — the concept of looking to the past to inform our future — we provide enriching programs that inspire a love for learning, promote social action, and boost literacy.

Our programs are more than just educational; they’re designed to foster resilience, build community bonds, and pass down generational knowledge and values to strengthen our community.

Our Mission

Sankofa Freedom Schools is to ensure we go beyond traditional education. Our mission is to equip the youngest generation with the tools they need to make a difference. We strive to instill in scholars the belief in their ability and responsibility to contribute positively to society.

Our Admin Team

At Sankofa Freedom Schools, our dedicated admin team is the backbone of our success. Led by one Executive Director and supported by two Project Directors, this dynamic team works collaboratively to oversee program operations, ensure curriculum fidelity, and foster meaningful community engagement. Together, they are committed to empowering youth and driving positive change in our communities.
